LANGUAGE AND CULTURAL FACILITATORS
Peace Corps Lesotho is seeking to recruit Language and Cultural Facilitators (LCF) on a part-time basis during pre-service and in-service trainings of Peace Corps Volunteers. The incumbents facilitate Volunteers’ acquisition of language, culture and technical skills, to successfully live and work in Lesotho. Working under the guidance of the Peace Corps Language, Culture and Homestay Coordinator, the LCF designs, implements, monitors and evaluates integrated language, cross-cultural and technical training during the ten week training period. While doing so, the LCF is expected to participate in all training components and assist with homestay coordination in a community-based training setting. Minimum qualifications
Qualifying candidates must have one of the following:
_ Diploma in African Languages or Adult Education, with 5 years’ experience in Primary or High school teaching
_ Degree in African Languages or Adult Education, with 3 years’ experience in Primary or High school teaching
_ Experience in training Peace Corps Volunteers in Language and Culture will be an added advantage
Additional requirements:
_ Must be fluent in both written and spoken English and Sesotho
_ Should be willing to work long hours during training events, while maintaining a positive and constructive attitude
_ Must be willing to live in a training village outside of Maseru, under simple conditions, with no running water or electricity for up to 10 weeks
_ Must be a model of professionalism
_ Proven ability to work as a member of a team
