The role

The Vice-President is accountable for the strategic management of the Mining Systems Sub Sahara Africa business; this includes the development and implementation of the company strategy to ensure the creation of shareholder and stakeholder wealth and health. The scope of this role includes that of an Executive of Sandvik Mining in the global context..

Key performance areas

• Develop and implement scorecards in accordance with organisational strategy
• Monitor, measure and assess performance of each project and discipline
• Ensure that SMS SSA financial targets are achieved

  • Financial Multiple Ratios
• Manage the organisational performance to ensure that the strategy is delivered
  • LTIFR (as agreed every year for each PPU´s)
  • Revenue growth§GP,GBR and EBIT
  • Order Intake
    Salesefficiency
  • Net working capital %
  • Percentage of customer services sales to total MiSYS sales
• Manage the organisational resources
  • Physical
  • Financial
  • Human
  • Contractors
  • Suppliers
• Manage the organisation human resources are adequate in terms of numbers, competence and diversity
• Manage the development of the appropriate plans, forecasts and reports to enable future business planning

  • Expenditure
  • Market Growth
  • Ensure compliance to the relevant legislation and regulations
• Manage strategic relationships with customers, sub-contractors, suppliers and other key stakeholders

Your profile

• 4 Year Qualification in Engineering or a relevant Discipline
• Post Graduate Qualification in Business Management;
• 10 years experience including, 8 Years mining materials handling experience, 5 Years at a Senior Management Level
