2015 SAfAIDS Young Peoples Leadership Academy (YPLA) - Lesotho , Swaziland and South Africa

The Southern Africa HIV and AIDS Information Dissemination Service (SAfAIDS) is seeking to recruit 12 committed and dynamic young people, 2 per country (Lesotho, Malawi, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe) from southern Africa, to be enrolled in A Young People’s Leadership Academy for sexual & Reproductive Health in Southern Africa. The capacity strengthening, mentoring and internship the Academy will offer, seeks to equip young people in Southern Africa with leadership skills and knowledge to uphold positive Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) outcomes, and SRH rights, for themselves and their communities of reach. The Academy will initially reach out to young people in six countries: Lesotho, Malawi, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The candidates will be expected to undertake the following:
• Enroll in the SAfAIDS young people’s leadership academy ONE year programme
• Participate fully in the academy activities for one year before graduating
• Participate in in-country ‘Let’s Talk. And Act’ sessions - spaces for young people to interact and share experiences in leadership
• Become champions of young people’s SRHR and socio-economic rights, identifying opportunities for advocacy at local, national and continental levels
• Initiate and execute country projects to support development within their communities
• Adopt a role model and inspirational stance for other young people in their communities.
• Facilitate breaking barriers of communication and interaction between young people and older community members, leadership and development practitioners at all levels

Selection Criteria

In order to quality for this program, young people must meet the following criteria:

1. Aged between 19-25 years
2. Have completed some level of tertiary education in the fields of social sciences, development studies, gender studies, or related health and leadership studies
3. Experience and participation in at least one HIV or sexual and reproductive related project, campaign or initiative, either at community level or within an institution e.g. school or University, or organization.
4. Be a citizen of and resident in one of the six focus countries under this project
5. Passionate and committed to advance young people’s rights and development agenda

VACANCY – CORPORATE AFFAIRS MANAGER
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho nationals to fill the position of a Corporate Affairs Manager at the Lesotho Petroleum Fund. The incumbent shall be responsible to offer legal advice, be in charge of the human resources management function, and the overall administrative support to the Fund. He/she shall directly report to the Chief Executive Officer, with the following specific responsibilities:-
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Act as the Legal advisor to the Secretariat.
b) Represent the Secretariat on all legal matters.
c) Manager the staff and budget resources.
d) Develop, implement and manage training administration systems and interventions.
e) Coordinate staff appraisal processes in line with and to ensure that the performance management system is implemented in accordance with the policy and procedure.
f) With the directive of the Chief Executive Officer manage the Board by planning, leading, organising and controlling Board activities.
g) Operate as a link between the Chief Executive Officer and the Board by communicating Board policy and providing the Board minutes and by following up with management to ensure that resolutions of the Board are implemented.
h) Ensure unhindered access to information by all directors to effectively contribute to Board meetings and other discussions.
i) Ensure that all newly appointed directors are inducted and provided with the necessary development and training.
j) Provide a central source of guidance and advice within the Board and the Fund on matters of ethics and good governance.
k) Coordinate Board evaluations.
QUALIFICATIONS
LLB Degree or equivalent qualification with STRONG track record in Human Resource (HR) field PLUS 3 years senior management experience in corporate law – 5 year’s senior management experience in corporate law – 5 year’s relevant experience at management level – Corporate Governance qualification would added advantage – Computer literate

Purpose: 

To coordinate the logistics marketing regional zones through provision of functional guidance, managing regional areas and components stock from customers delivery and services. Creating a platform which enables your clients to deal with you telephonically and in person.

Key Responsibilities: 

a) Pursuing and referring sales leads on behalf of the company
b) Identify ways to improve customer service to the end customers
c) Maintain advanced/ detailed knowledge of the existing Cliental List and Products as well as keeping track of advancements made to keep the company’s image to clients
d) May require prolonged local travel, carrying and lifting tool kit/ parts of varying weights of parcels in the warehouse.
e) May require selling skills
f) Respond to all customers concerns or problems by resolving them or by escalating them to the proper ownership of customer problems or incidents until the situation has been resolved
g) Build working relationships with customers and develop informal communication channels with customers through Invoicing them well on time before their Subscription is overdue
h) Perform periodic preventative maintenance on assigned products from the Warehouse by replacing old pricing methods to meet your customers’ needs either low or high to balance your costs.
i) May require working mostly outside the office and you’re working hours maybe determined by you to meet your requirements and targets set for you by your supervisor

Qualifications and Knowledge Experience:

• Diploma in Marketing and Sales or Sales Management
• 2 Years’ Experience preferably in Marketing Field and Management
• Must have Driver’s License

Key Performance Areas
1. Processing of all types of Retirement Fund claims (withdrawals/retirements/death
/funeral/disability).
2. Communicate and interact successfully with internal and external stakeholders.
3. Ensure that unclaimed and unpaid benefits payments are done on time, accurately.
4. Produce administration reports for client meetings.
5. Where required assist in presenting administration reports.

Required Qualification and Knowledge
