POSITION:ECCD FACILITATORS X 10
REPORTS TO: PROJECT OFFICER - ECCD
LOCATION:Mokhotlong, Lesotho 
Purpose
To contribute to the goals of the study by:
Providing quality training to the ECCD centre teachers and parents on the book sharing model in a skilful, sensitive and engaging manner.
Mentoring and supporting the ECCD teachers in implementing the model during the intervention process and in their day to day running of their centers.
Monitoring the ECCD teachers in delivering the book sharing model once the intervention has been completed.
Job Requirements
Minimum matric, with evidence of working with children (0-5 yrs)
Mature person, with a deep passion for children development and experience of working with children
Speak, read and write Sesotho and English
Education, Health or Welfare experience an advantage
Excellent proven facilitation skills (flexible, assertive, insightful, appreciative, trustworthy)
Ability to mobilize, encourage, give and receive feedback
Able to capture information as accurately as possible
Committed, interested and dedicated to working with other women in the community
Proficiency in word processing email and basic internet
Be willing to travel in remote rural areas for extended periods of time
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The Facilitator will:
Facilitation of book sharing model at an ECCD level
Familiarize yourself with the book sharing model so that you are able to address any questions put to you by teachers, parents or the general community.
Help to negotiate entry into the local villages and motivate parents, both at the ECCD centre and outside of it, to regularly attend each session.
Facilitate weekly book sharing sessions at each village assigned to you for a period of 8 weeks.
Work in partnership with the ECCD teachers as a mentor and guide to the book sharing process.
Model all book sharing principles while running the sessions.
Support, guide and encourage parents in the correct way to share books with their child/ren.
Collect all information and data as per study procedures.
2. Administration & office management
Schedule all sessions with ECCD centre as per study procedures.
Submit all information to the designated project staff as per schedule.
Oversee temporary filing systems for study documentation, prior to its collection by the Project Manager or M & E Officer
Requests for stationary and office consumables and repairs to equipment.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Working Relationships:
Internal: Project Officer – ECCD, Projects Administrator, Administration Secretary
External: ECCD Teachers, Chiefs and Councillors, Communities and MSH Technical Support ECCD
