Pit Supervisor
The role
Pit supervisor must have good knowledge of DTH / rotary drilling systems as well as a good track record in the surface mining environment.
Pit supervisor is responsible for managing all SANDVIK’s functions in the pit – mining area. Overseeing of operatives in Pit.
  • Assist operatives in daily tasks – training.
  • Regular P.T.O.’s on all tasks.
  • Ensuring that all damages are correctly recorded.
  • Route cause analysis ‘conducted on damaged equipment.
  • Conduct all routine inspections ie Load cell tests, bit air pressure, and rod diameter
  • Assist in fault detection on drill rigs.
  • Ensure all procedures are adhered to.
  • Daily attendance of production meetings.
  • 2.9.2. functions in the pit.
  • Ensure that all safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Assist manager in updating of mine procedures.
  • Responsible for conducting early line up meetings (daily).
  • Liaise with customer’s representative in Pit and in meetings where required.
  • Assist site administrator where required.
  • code 8 drivers licence.
The pit supervisor must have a safety comes first culture and a team player is vitally important.
Your profile
  • Matric
  • English Proficiency
  • Code 8 Drivers Licence
  • Full Pysical and Medical Certificate
  • Practical experience in operational excellence/ continuous improvement
  • proficient in English and local dialects
  • A proven track record in a high production environment.
  • Good Knowledge of Rotary & DTH drilling systems
