VOTER EDUCATOR
The Independent Electoral Commission invites applications from suitably qualified Basotho candidates for the temporary position of Voter Educator the coming Local Government Elections.
Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Constituency Electoral Assistant (CEA) the Voter Educator shall:-
1. Educate public on electoral matters including new boundaries and constituencies.
2. Distribute Voter Education materials in the constituencies and conduct training for public on all phases of Registration, Nomination and Voting respectively.
3. Sensitise the public on all electoral activities in his/her respective constituency.
4. Assist the CEA in the training of Display Clerks, Official Witnesses, Party Agents and Voting Station Staff.
5. Any other duties assigned by the Director of Elections that are related to electoral activities.
Job Specifications:
1. Applicants will be recruited in the constituency concerned and must be registered as electors.
2. They should be holders of minimum Diploma in Adult Education, Public Administration, Business Studies, and Development Studies.
OR
3. Retired Teachers/Nurses and Extension workers and people with communication skills are advised to apply.
4. Applications must include two (2) references.
Minimum age for applicants is 25 years
Application forms are available at the constituency or district offices. They must be completed and returned to the same offices on or before 25th February 2016. Successful applicants should check their names from 11th March 2016 for interviews.
