Employment Opportunities at Jhpiego Lesotho


In an effort to support Ministry of Health (MoH) in the fight against HIV, Jhpiego with funding from USAID, is scaling up a community-based HIV prevention initiative focused on expanding access to oral pre-exposure prophyaxis (PrEP) for people at risk of acquiring HIV. The project is based in three districts, namely Maseru, Berea and Leribe, with a focus on community-based service delivery.

Jhpiego is looking for highly qualified candidates to fill in the following positions for the project funded by USAID for the duration of two years.

Finance Manager (x1)

The Finance Manager will work closely with the Finance Assistant, Grants Officer and Procurement Coordinator for PrEP and will report to the Sr. Finance Manager.

Social & Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) Officer (x1)

Responsibilities

The PrEP SBCC Officer will be based in Maseru and reports to the Communications Manager. The position will work closely with the district-based mobilization teams, and will supervisor three District Demand Creation Officers. This position will require frequent travel throughout Lesotho.

Community Health Promoters (x8)

The Community Health Promoters (CHPs) will be based in either Maseru, Berea or Leribe and will work closely with the local demand creation team. The CHPs will report to the District Demand Creation Officer based in his/her local district.

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (x1)

Responsibilities

The M&E Officer’s primary responsibility is to supporting the MER Officer in reviewing and managing the data collection, management and analysis for the PrEP program. The M&E Officer supports the recording and reporting of service delivery data from facility level upwards, ensures Jhpiego maintains a clean and accurate dataset for all PrEP clients, conducts analysis on the data, and advises on program evaluation and research. The M & E Officer reports directly to the MER Officer

District Demand Creation Officer x2

Responsibilities

The PrEP District Demand Creation Officers will be based in either Maseru, Berea or Leribe and will work closely with the local mobilization teams. The PrEP District Demand Creation Officers will report to the SBCC Officer in Maseru, and the position will supervise PrEP Mobilizers based in his/her local district.

Data Management Officer (x2)

Responsibilities

The position reports to the Monitoring & Evaluation and Research Officer and has the following responsibilities;

Responsibilities:

Overseeing the reporting of PrEP data for all sites
Provide assistance to PrEP community sites in the application of PrEP tools, aggregating and reporting
Supports analysis of data at site level
Prepare PrEP data for program use, including preparing reports, giving feedback,
Lead data management process as needed at all PrEP sites
Participate in continuous quality improvement activities with a focus on ensuring quality data

Community Nurse (PrEP) (x12)

Responsibilites

The Community Nurse will work closely with a team of providers and be responsible for the provision of a minimum package of PrEP services at allocated community-based sites.

Community Counsellor (x12)

Responsibilities

Community Counselors will be responsible for providing counseling for PrEP, identifying eligible clients, supporting client follow-up to strengthen retention on PrEP, etc.  We are looking for dynamic, performance driven Counselors willing to work in Community settings with flexible schedules.

Procurement Coordinator (PrEP)

Responsibilities

The Procurement Coordinator will be based in Maseru and will work closely with the finance and procurement team.

District PrEP Team Leader (x2)

Responsibilities

The District PrEP Team Leader will work closely with a team of providers under the responsibility of the HIV Technical Officer and be responsible for coordinating community-based outreaches, allocating staff as appropriate, monitoring field-based activities, analyzing district performance, using data for decision-making, and reporting.
