JOB TITLE: TRANSPORT OFFICER
GRADE: D
RESPONSIBLE TO: ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Administrative Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for the allocation of transport within the Ministry and the management of the Ministry’s vehicles.
MAIN DUTIES
Supervision of drivers, including proper caring of vehicles.
• Conducts performance reviews for drivers.
• Forward planning of vehicle maintenance/service in collaboration with the Assistant Administrative Officer.
• Replacement of old vehicles as required from time to time.
• Maintains an up to date vehicle register.
• Compiles vehicle reports for onward submission o the Assistant Administrative
Officer.
• Passes vehicle accidents reports for onward submission to the Assistant
Administrative Officer.
• Writes permits for use of vehicles beyond normal working hours.
• Processes vehicle hire for the Ministry.
• Day to day allocation of vehicles to different departments/sections, while executing
their various duties, including using a booking system.
• Proper maintenance of vehicle logbook and writing of necessary monthly reports.
JOB SPECIFICATION
1. The candidate should have C.O.S.0 plus at least three (3) years experience in the
field of transport. Relevant training will be an added advantage.
OR
2 Assistant Executive Officer with three years minimum experience dealing with transport issues. Relevant training will be an added advantage.
