JOB TITLE: IMPORTS AND EXPORTS MANAGER
GRADE:
RESPONSIBLE TO: DIRECTOR-OBFC
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of Director —OBFC the candidate will be responsible for the overall
administration of Imports and Exports department and overseeing that all the operations are
implemented according to the Laws and Regulations of Lesotho.
MAIN DUTIES
I. PLANNING
• To enforce health, environmental, security and safety and technical standards that arises from
domestic laws and international agreements.
o To review / amend Imports and Exports Regulations, Policies and Guidelines to signatory to
comply with international agreements, standards, environmental and health reasons.
• To review Imports permit application forms
• To review exports permit applications forms
• Develops and recommend negotiating position and technical inputs for the review of the
SACU Agreement and other agreements.
MONITORING AND EVALUATION
Organize information sharing sessions with stakeholders
Organize information sharing with representatives and business organizations.
Develops client’s manuals for enforcement, imports and exports control.
IMPLEMENTATION
• To enforce the Act and Regulations and detection of non-compliance with permit conditions.
• To engage with relevant Government Departments to provide input on Legislations.
• Liaises with LRA to ensure that electronic permit system introduces at border posts
Addresses potential fraudulent activities with hard copy permits.
• Participates in revision of rebates.
• Enforces corrective measures on risk management.
• Raise awareness about imports and exports control including enforcements.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Education and Training
Masters Degree in Economics/ Development Studies/ Business Administration At least 4
years working experience in related field
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Economics/ Development Studies/ Business
At least 6 years experience in related field
Personal Attributes
• Good communication skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and extra hours
