The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions:
UNIVERSITY LIBRARY:
POST Nos. 3430, 3445 & 3332: LIBRARY ACCESS ASSISTANTS
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Diploma in Library and Information Studies.
At least 2 years working experience in a library and information environment
Duties:
Answerable to Head of Client Access, Training and User Support (CATUS).
Working at the Access Area, charging and discharging print and non-print materials using an automated system.
Answering user inquiries regarding availability of specific items and their status, as well as status of specific collection materials following established guidelines.
Assisting clients with ready reference queries and where necessary liaising with Subject Librarians for more technical research queries.
Maintaining the reserved collection materials.
Attending to basic statistics pertaining to the section.
Shelving, shelf-reading, retrieving and shifting library materials.
Assisting in the preparation and implementation of library orientation.
On rotational basis, serve at the Mobile Library site as per schedule.
Assisting in general library duties as required
Remuneration:
The University offers salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Employment type:
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable for Locals.
