IT Technician Wanted at Electracorp


An exciting opportunity exist to join our company in the above capacity. To proactively support our clients and internal customers in ensuring an optimum Information Technology service is provided at all times. Receiving, prioritising, documenting and resolving requests from internal and external clients in a timely manner. Working with the team to analyse clients’ requirements and provide specifications for solution delivery. Liaising with suppliers to provide an effective resolution to all issues and proactively improve the service offered.

Key Responsibilities:
In this hands-on and varied role, you will be expected to:
-Support the effective management of all support issues reported to us
-Proactively identify potential problems and suggest resolutions
-Maintaining ownership of issues reported through to resolution
-Installation, configuration and support of computer hardware, network, applications and peripherals with the support of the management team and chosen suppliers
-Co-ordinate, conduct and document testing of new solutions
-Implementation of new solutions in accordance with agreed standards
-Keep internal and external customers informed in a professional manner
-Ensuring accuracy of detail
-1st and second line support to users, including email, windows account, Microsoft Office and third party or in-house applications
-Provide maintenance to Server environments
-Perform high volume and/or high variability data analysis work
-Ensure documentation is kept up to date and accurate
-Provide maintenance to ensure good performance of systems and service
-Creatively solve problems, sometimes under pressure
-Comply with and champion all chosen standards, including security, data protection etc

Personal Skills Required:
-Excellent attitude with a can-do and hands-on approach
-Ability to demonstrate clear and confident communication skills, at all levels and with an ability to -discuss technical issues with people of varying technical ability
-Ability to deal with problems and technical issues in a friendly, calm and reassuring manner
-Passion for IT with an enthusiastic, thorough and methodical approach to problem solving
-Self-motivated with an ability to multi-task, prioritise and escalate accordingly
-Team player with a willingness to learn

Technical Skills Required
-Previous experience in IT support, in a role providing support in person, via email and by telephone
-Ability to produce clear, concise and accurate documentation
-Troubleshooting experience with Microsoft Windows and Office
-Understanding of PC hardware setup and configuration
-Understanding of networking concepts and technologies
-Understanding of security infrastructure, including anti-virus, firewalls
