Post requirements:
• Social Work degree and valid registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions and proof of paid up fees for 2016/2017
• 5 years’ appropriate experience as social worker with a minimum of 2 years in an occupational social work environment
• Credible experience in occupational social work
• Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and policies
• Preparedness to work in a multidisciplinary team and be able to market Social Work Services
• Willingness to travel and attend courses when required.
Core functions:
• Administer the development and rendering of the advanced and complex Police Social Work Services work-focus assessments
• Administer the development and rendering of comprehensive occupational social work to the client system by means of Social Work Service’ capacity building programmes
• Administer the development and rendering of comprehensive occupational social work services to the client system by means of Restorative Interventions
• Administer the development and execution of comprehensive occupational social work services to the client system by means of application of Social Work Community Model
• Administer the development and implementation of multidisciplinary approach interventions within the Employee Health and Wellness environment
• Administer the development and the execution of standard social work administrative practices
• Administer human, physical and financial resources allocated to the specific area of responsibility.

SAPS Thohoyandou: Psychological Services

Post requirements:
• Relevant Honours/B Psych degree in Psychology (in one of the acknowledged categories), with a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in the field of psychology
• Registered at the Health Professions Counsel of South Africa as Counsellor.
Core functions:
Render psychological-related services, which may include one (1) or a combination of psychological interventions, psychological evaluations and/or project management, and the supervision of personnel fulfilling these duties.

Senior Personnel Practitioner:
Captain (1 Post)

SAPS Provincial Office: Quality of Work Life Services (Disability Coordinator)

Post requirements:
• BA degree in Social Work, Psychology or a relevant 3-year degree and valid registration with the professional councils and proof of paid up fees for 2016/2017
• 5 years’ appropriate experience with a minimum of 2 years in an occupational environment
• Must currently be on the level of a warrant officer (Police Service Act members) or on salary level 7/8 (Public Service Act employees)
• Credible experience in occupational wellness setting
• Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and policies
• Preparedness to work in a multidisciplinary team
• Willingness to travel and attend courses when required.
Core functions:
• Manage the implementation of the Disability Workplace Programme in the Province
• Manage the Provincial Disability Management budget
• Participate in Policy, Project Planning and Liaison Programmes
• Advise management on the trends and patterns pertaining to disability.

Senior Personnel Practitioner:

SAPS Provincial Office: Quality of Work Life Services (HIV/AIDS Coordinator)

Post requirements:
• BA degree in Social Work/Psychology or a relevant 3-year degree and valid registration with the professional councils and proof of paid up fees for 2016/2017
• 5 years’ appropriate experience with a minimum of 2 years in an occupational environment
• Credible experience in occupational wellness setting
• Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and policies
• Preparedness to work in a multidisciplinary team
• Willingness to travel and attend courses when required.
Core functions:
• Manage the implementation of the HIV/AIDS, TB Workplace Programme in the Province
• Manage the allocated HIV/AIDS budget
• Participate in Policy, Project Planning and Liaison Programmes
• Advise management on the trends and patterns pertaining to HIV/AIDS.
General:
• Only the official application form (available on the SAPS website and SAPS Recruitment Offices) will be accepted. The Z83 previously utilised will no longer be accepted. All instructions on the application form must be adhered to, failure to do so may result in the rejection of the application
• The post particulars and reference number of the post must be correctly specified on the application form. A separate application must be completed for each post
• A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae must be submitted together with the application form
• Certified copies of an applicant’s ID document, motor vehicle driver’s licence, all educational qualifications obtained together with academic records thereof and service certificates of previous employers stating the occupation, must also be submitted and attached to every application
• Applicants to initial each and every page of the application form, CV and all annexures
• Applicants will be subjected to fingerprint screening
• Persons who retired from the Public Service by taking a severance package, early retirement or for medical reasons, as well as persons with previous convictions, are excluded

• Successful applicants to be appointed in terms of South African Police Service Act, (Act No 68 of 1995) and not yet appointed in terms of the South African Police Service Act will have to undergo a medical examination and found to be medically fit. They will further have to comply with the prescripts on the SAPS Dress Order, whereby tattoos may not be visible when wearing uniform, must be willing to undergo the prescribed Introductory Police Development Learning Programme and are expected to work flexi hours or shifts in the execution of their duties
• The South African Police Service is under no obligation to fill a post after advertisement thereof
• Candidates shortlisted for appointment to certain identified posts will be vetted in terms of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act, 2007 (Act No 32 of 2007) and the Children’s Act, 2005 (Act No 38 of 2005).
