SECURITY MANAGER (PATERSON BAND DU)

PURPOSE: To ensure the security of the premises, the product and the people working at Letšeng Diamonds through the sustainable introduction and maintenance of
up to date security procedures, arrangements and installations and the management of staff to achieve a secure working environment.

MAIN OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Proactively leads and advises the management team on the implementation of
security strategies within the Operation’s broader business plans at local level
• Provides guidance to the Operation management team on diamond security as
well as implementing appropriate countermeasures to reduce corporate asset
loss
• Leads change, from identifying opportunities for improvement to advocating
and supporting a better approach to address organisational problems and
opportunities, as well as work process issues
• Leveragesinternal and external networksto create strong partnerships/alliances
and build collaborative relationships to enhance goal achievement
• Implements a sustainable product protection programme to reduce potential
product losses through ineffective or inefficient security processes
• Conducts on-going assessments of security policies, practices, procedures and
technologiesto ensure alignment with international best practice, and to enable
effective mitigation of potential losses
• Provides assurance to the Operational leadership team and other stakeholders
on the adequacy of the protective measures in place at the operation
• Mitigates risks to product and asset loss through a proper risk management
process
• Develops, implements and maintains a security strategy to achieve zero security
harm to people, products, the business and business reputation
• Applies security strategy to deliver business objectives, aligned with robust
financial management and client requirements
• Develops and implements plans to operationalise the security strategy
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Security Management Diploma
• 10 year in the a Security Management role of which at least five years in a
senior position
• Light Vehicle Drivers Licence

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• The ability to apply the principles of security service management to ensure
delivery of service continuity and availability
• The ability to understand the problem/situation, evaluate alternatives and take
timely action, which will enhance the performance of the organisation
• The ability to plan, organise, lead and control in the work environment to
achieve the business objectives
• Sound knowledge and understanding of the legislation and regulations
inclusive of legislative and regulatory bodies within Lesotho
• A thorough understanding of the mining and processing environments that
enables and supports the proactive identification of vulnerabilities that could
be exploited by those with criminal intent
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Candidates will be required to undergo a Medical Examination of fitness as per
requirements.
