Work Order Clerk
Introduction
ALL ORDINARILY RESIDENT (OR) APPLICANTS (See Appendix for definition) MUST HAVE THE REQUIRED WORK AND/OR RESIDENCY PERMITS TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION. The U.S. Consulate General in Cape Town is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for a position of Work Order Clerk in the Facilities Maintenance Unit (FAC).
Description
Basic Function of the Position:
This position is the main point of contact for all maintenance and repair with Consulate personnel, residents, local contractors, and facilities staff. This position is responsible for coordinating maintenance and repair of Government owned and leased residences and compound facilities by issuing work orders generated via Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) /myServices platforms. This position is responsible for the Facility Management petty case (15,000 ZAR) and purchase card ($3,000) programs. This position will also perform general clerical, administrative, and procurement functions, and as directed escorting to uncleared visitors and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

- Education:
- Successful completion of secondary school is required.
- Work Experience:
- Minimum of three years' experience in an administrative/procurement position in either a construction or facilities management setting is required.
OR
In the absence of successful completion of secondary school minimum of four years' experience in an administrative/procurement position in either a construction or facilities management setting is required.
- Language:
- Level IV (fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge in bookkeeping, financial accounting, or construction/facility maintenance management is required.
- Job Knowledge:
- Basic familiarity with MS Word and Excel is required.
