JOB ADVERTISEMENT – TEMPORARY STAFF
The Independent Electoral Commission supported by section 151 (2) (c) of the National Assembly Electoral Act of 2011 wishes to engage Voting Station Managers for the February 2015 Elections; and therefore invites applications from suitably qualified Basotho candidates for the temporary position of Voting Station Manager per voting station.
Job Description
Under the general supervision of the Returning Officer, the Voting Station Manager shall perform the following duties:
1. Supervise all activities connected with the voting station on voting day and during counting.
2. Oversees the balloting and counting of votes (ensuring adherence to procedures laid down by the Electoral Act and final Accuracy and confidentiality of the count)
3. Ensure that staff and voting station environment are managed effectively and efficiently.
4. Ascertain that election materials are in place at the voting station at least two (2) days before voting.
5. Ensure that electoral material roll back is properly done.
6. Perform any other duties assigned by the Returning Officer, which are related to electoral activities.
Job Specification
• First preference will be given to applicants who have registered in the constituency.
• Minimum qualifications in the following fields:
Diploma in Management, Education and or Administration
• Management, teaching and extension experience will be an added advantage.
• Must be between the ages of 25 and 60
Application forms are available at the Constituency offices; they must be completed and returned to the same offices on or before 20th January 2015. Applications must clearly indicate the position the applicant is applying for.
