Administrative Assistant/ Human Resources
The United States Peace Corps – Lesotho is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant/ Human Resources. The position will be based in Maseru at the Peace Corps office. The Administrative Assistant/ Human Resources supports all aspects of the work of the Administrative Unit of Peace Corps Lesotho. This person is responsible for but not limited to carrying out duties dealing primarily with personnel management as required by Federal and Peace Corps regulations.
Mandatory Skills and/or qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
A Bachelor’s Degree in subjects related to Human Resources Management.
Experience working with diverse group of more than 20, motivating and mentoring others.
Knowledge of Lesotho labor laws and their application.
Ability to deliver performance management programs that drive a high performance culture among staff.
Proven knowledge of recruitment and selection processes.
Ability to create, implement and monitor effective training programs.
At least 5 years working experience as Human Resources focal person.
Highly desirable skills:
Understanding of Peace Corps’ function and philosophy.
Superior interpersonal, coaching, communication, negotiation and consultative skills at all levels.
Flexibility in work hours when it is necessary to complete a project or to meet a deadline.
Proven ability to work well with all kinds of people and in cross cultural situations.
Proven ability to function well as a team player in a complex organization.
Experience working with expatriates, particularly Americans.
Demonstrated competency in computer skills, specifically in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a group setting.
