The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following post:
FACULTY OF HUMANITIES:
Minimum qualifications and experience:
Masters in Library and Information Studies; teaching core course in LIS such as Origins and Development of Libraries; Information Sources, Literacy, Ethics, Management and Digital Curation; User Studies; Readership and Children’s Literature; Establishment, Marketing and Promotion of LIS Centres; Research Methods; Experiential Learning and any other relevant areas in the programme. A proven record of scholarly research and publications is required. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses offered in Library and Information Studies at undergraduate level.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The duties of the post will include:
- The teaching and assessment of undergraduate students in Library and Information Studies.
- Promote and strengthen academic linkages between the Unit/Department and other stakeholders.
- Initiate and implement progressive strategies for the betterment of the Unit/Department.
- Performing other duties required by the Unit/Department/Faculty.
- The incumbent will be expected to conduct research in his/her area of expertise.
- Student counseling as need arises.
- Any other related duties assigned.
The incumbent is expected to start work in January 2016.
FACULTY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY:
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- A Doctoral Degree in Organic Chemistry with considerable experience of university teaching and a very good record of research publications in reputable journals, which are accessible through internet.
- Applicants at Professorship or Associate Professorship who wish to spend at least one (1) year on sabbatical leave may be considered.
Duties:
- Undertake teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Initiate and/or participate in research programmes and program development within the department.
- Perform any other duties, including administrative, as would be required by the department.
The successful candidate will be expected to resume duty on 4th January 2016.

The University offers salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Employment type:
This position is for two year contract renewal upon satisfactory performance.
