World Vision Lesotho (WVL) was legally established in 1987, even though the Ministry dates as far back as 1976 when WV began child sponsorship in 2 primary schools under the auspices of WV South Africa. Between 1987 and 1995 WVL's model of development was through Community Development Programmes (CDPs). In 1987 with the support of the Methodist Church, as a local partner, a small coordination Office was established. World Vision Lesotho currently has 17 Area Development Programmes (ADP's) that are implemented using the integrated holistic approach, Communities within these areas elect grassroots committees to add value and increase the impact on the well being of children. This is supported through two funding streams, namely Child Sponsorship and Grants ( Non Sponsorship).

Employment at Maseru City Council


Maseru City Council (MCC) has the following vacant positions:
1.CHIEF ENGINEER
QUALIFICATIONS
University Degree in Civil Engineering plus a minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in civil works with exposure to Municipal works.
2.CHIEF ACCOUNTANT
QUALIFICATIONS
Technician Accountant with at least Two years post qualification experience or B Comm Accounting with at least Five (5) years relevant experience.
Preferably a registered member of Lesotho Institute of Accounts. Computer literacy is a must.
3.REVENUE ACCOUNTANT
QUALIFICATIONS
Technician Accountant or B-Comm Accounting with two years relevant accountant. Experience in a Credit Control and management will be an added advantage.
4.SENIOR PLANNER – FORWARD PLANNING
QUALIFICATIONS
An appropriate post-graduate degree or diploma in urban and regional planning. Strong Urban Design component would be an added advantage.
5.SENIOR LANDS OFFICER
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
A recognised professional qualification in Land Administration on land Economics or equivalent plus two years post qualification experience
Must possess managerial skills; problems solving, communication and leadership.
6.REGISTERED NURSES (12 Twelve)
QUALIFICATIONS
R/N/M, registered with the Lesotho Nursing Council
IMAI training would be an added advantage
Integrated Management of Adult illness
7.SENIOR LAND SURVEYOR
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
A University Degree in Land Surveying, Licensed with the Chief Surveyor with at least Five (5) years in possession of such licence
8.BUILDING CONTROL EVALUATION OFFICER
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
National Diploma in one of the following: Civil Engineering
-Architecture
-Building Management
-Building Science
-Building and Quantity Surveying
Plus a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field
OR
B. Tech Degree in Architectural Engineering or Construction management plus 1 year experience in a related field
The incumbent must possess public speaking, communication skills, negotiation, managerial and Leadership skills
9.PSYCHOSOCIAL COUNSELOR (4 FOUR)
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Care and Counselling

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
  • Minimum Educational level required: Diploma in Business Studies/ administration or related field
  • Preferred Educational Requirement Bachelor degree in Human Resources or Business studies or Administration or related field
  • Technical Training qualifications required: Professional technical skill desired (certification?)
    • Computer skills
    • Experience in People management
    • Knowledge of estate management and guest relations
    • Good planning and organizational skills
    • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff
  • Experience: 2 years of experience in related field
Working Environment / Conditions:
  • Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field
  • Travel: 25% Domestic/international travel is required.
  • On call: 50%
