Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for four (4) temporary positions of Drivers, Grade C. The contract is for a period of three (3) months.

JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Transport Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for checking the vehicle condition, cleanliness, maintain the log book and transport of staff and other necessities.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Driving and maintenance of vehicles
1. Check vehicle condition and cleanliness
1.1 Maintains vehicle both interior in clean, polished operating conditions
1.2 Checks oil, petrol, lights, mirrors, types and speedometer before each journey to ensure that is in good condition.
1.3 Checks on regular basis that anti-theft devices are operative all times to guard again theft.
1.4 Takes the vehicle for service and reports defects to avoid problems that may be encouraged if the vehicle is not in good condition.
2. Maintenance of the Log Book and Transport Requisition form
2.1 Enters mileage readings before and after a journey in the Log Book to monitor the vehicle usage.
2.2 Verifies that the transport requisition forms that specify the destination are appropriately filled before talking any journey
3. Transportation of staff and other necessities
2.1 Assists member of staff in entering and leaving the vehicle to ensure their safety.
2.2 To various locations – observing and adhering to their schedule as may be directed.
2.3 Performs any other work related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Education and Training
• COSC or GCE plus at least five (5) years experience as a driver
• A valid driver’s license of not less than five years.
• Must have undergone and passed the assessment test.
Personal traits
• Ability to abstain from indulging in any intoxicating substance during working hours
• Ability to work beyond normal working hours
• Close and vision corrected to 20/20 in both eyes
• Good communications skills
• Physically fit
• Courteous and accommodating attitude
• Never smoke inside the vehicle
