* A covering letter indicating clearly the following information: Position applied for, title, initials and surname, contact number (application forms from other organisations are not accepted)
* A comprehensive and typewritten or legible Curriculum Vitae
* Certified copies of relevant certificates and Identity Document (this must accompany your application)
• Please staple all your documents together in order not to be misplaced during the sorting process

Building Plan Examiner
Division: Building Control
Salary scale: R223 140-R234 528-R246 432-R252 672-R265 488-R278 988-R293 136-R308 040 per annum (Post level 8-6)
Requirements:
• National Diploma: Architectural Technology/Building Management
• Minimum of 3 years’ work-related experience
• Ability to function under pressure.
Main duties:
• Receive all building plans for checking
• Check information on the application forms and building plans and whether they correlate with the building plan file
• Calculate the surface of constructions, new work and sewerage work on the building plans according to approved fees
• Check that the coverage of the building plans is not exceeded as prescribed in the Town Planning Schemes
• Examine plans and general examination which consists of 68 different examination points
• Examine plans by hand from the prepared plan examination list eg site plans, sewerage layout, evaluations, cuts, ground plans and general administration points
• Approve domestic, business and smallholding plans after mistakes are rectified
• See to it that all building plans meet the requirements of the National Building Regulation and Town Planning Schemes.
