REQUIREMENTS:
• A 3- to 4-year degree in the Financial Management sphere
• A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage
• At least 5 years’ experience in a Senior Management position in a financial environment.

DUTIES:
• Ensure effective management of expenditure and revenue
• Develop financial delegations and financial-related policies and strategies
• Identify risks and put mitigating strategies in place
• Lead the audit steering committee
• Manage assets as well as the assets register
• Manage the gift register of the Department
• Ensure compliance with Treasury Regulations, PFMA, PSA and PSR
• Conduct training on budget matters and act in an advisory capacity to line managers and to the Director-General on financial matters
• Manage contracts, tenders and DAC issues.

NOTE: All short-listed candidates will be subjected to a technical exercise that intends to test the relevant technical elements of the job. Furthermore, recommended candidates will be subjected to a generic managerial competency assessment that will be testing generic managerial competencies using the DPSA SMS competency assessment tools.

NOTE: The successful candidates will be required to enter into an employment contract and conclude an annual performance agreement with the relevant Authority within three (3) months upon commencement of duty. Qualifications will be verified and it is the applicants’ responsibility to have foreign qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). The incumbents of the posts will be required to disclose their financial interests in accordance with the prescribed regulations.
