Division: Waste and Environment
Salary scale: R252 672-R265 488-R278 988-R293 136-R308 040-R323 652-R340 152 per annum (Post level 7-5)
Requirements:
• Relevant National Diploma/degree in Environmental Management/Environmental Science (NQF Level 5)
• Environmental law, monitoring and enforcement will be an added advantage
• Computer literacy
• Driver’s licence
• Minimum of 3 years in the Environmental Management field.
Main duties:
• Constantly monitor development, mining and industrial activities within the Municipal jurisdiction to ensure compliance with environmental legislation, policies and by-laws
• Ensure that existing Waste and Environmental by-laws are applied, and the requirements of existing environmental legislation are met
• Enforce specific procedures and measures on residents, commercial and industrial businesses
• Participate in delivery of awareness and educational programmes on environmental issues.
