Handy Man
The incumbent will be responsible for maintenance aspects as well as client equipment under our control.This includes scheduling maintenance, maintenance material stock control & ordering.
Duties & Responsibilities:
To repair ovens, fridges and deep freezes, stoves, washing machines and tumble dryers.
Taking reasonable care for own health and safety and that of others.
To Assist and perform basic electrical work requests such as; change air-conditioned filters, lights and bulbs, socket outlets, sinks, toilet bowls, shower trays, painting of interior and exterior tasks, carpentry and joinery assistance, replacing locks, etc.
To perform surfaces scrubbing with metal putty knifes and scratchers.
To perform surfaces varnishing with brushes and rollers.
To paint damaged interior and exterior walls, doors and other building items.
Prepare surface and repair old paints scrubbing, cracks pointing and holes clearance.
To perform adding of surfaces with paint brushes, rollers, spray gun.
To perform grinding of padded painted and stopped surfaces.
To repair leaking taps and unblock the drains.
Maintains understanding of current trends, codes, safety, practices and technologies related to the trade and associated trades.
To performs skilled tasks in building general knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques, materials, tools, and equipment within a safe manner.
To maintain equipment to its optimum performance level by monitoring and performing Preventative Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance tasks with an emphasis on safety and quality of work.
To control and preservation of materials and tools issued for the performance of work duties and provide advance notification to line manager when stocks reach minimal level.
To develop and adhere to Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s) in regards to all potentially hazardous tasks.
Identifying and testing working areas for potential accidents and health hazards and implementing appropriate control measures. (Risk Assessments).
Adhere to health, safety and security procedures of the Client and Company.
Attending training when required.
Any other duties.
Minimum Skills Requirements:
Min COSC plus Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Equivalent.
Must have 5 years working experience in the similar role.
Working in a catering mining professional environment would be added as an advantage.
Knowledge of Laundry and dish washer Industrial machines would be added as advantage.
Computer Literacy (MS Office)
