LESOTHO HIGHLANDS DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENTS FOR VARIOUS POSITIONS

The bi-national Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP), of the Government of Lesotho (GOL) and the Republic of South Africa (RSA) is aimed at harnessing the water resources of the highlands of Lesotho for the mutual advantage of Lesotho and the Republic of South Africa.

The Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) was set up to implement and operate that part of the LHWP that falls within the borders of Lesotho. LHDA is to embark on Phase II of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP), a multi-billion rand Phase involving large scale civil engineering and socio-environmental aspects. The Authority invites applications from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the following positions which are of contract duration of five (5) years.

Polihali Operations Branch
Administrative Clerk
HR/AC/14A/43/09/14
Supports the Branch through the Provision of variety of accounts functions by ensuring that payments are made timeously.
Diploma in Business Studies/CAT or equivalent plus at least three (3) years’ experience in a similar environment.

Development and Operations
Project Manager – Civil Engineering
HR/PM/14A/44/09/14
To assist the Contracts Administration Branch Manager in ensuring the sustainable implementation and maintenance of LHWP infrastructure and civil engineering structures and the achievement of the Branch performance targets through approval, coordination, development, implementation and monitoring of DOD project activities as well as providing technical advice and support to other LHDA branches on engineering and contractual issues.

A Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent is essential. A postgraduate Engineering or Management qualification is desirable, with at least ten (10) years’ relevant post qualification experience, five (5) of which should have been in the building construction discipline.
AND
At least five (5) years’ experience at middle/senior management level in a similar sized organisation, involving management of projects from development to commissioning or close out.

A high level of management, leadership and strategic planning experience is a requirement.
