The Water and Sewerage Company (WASCO) invites applications from suitably qualified local candidates for the following position:
Job Title : Supply Chain Manager
Reports to : Director of Finance
Purpose of the Role:
To ensure that all goods and services ordered for and by WASCO are of the right quality, quantity and are competitively priced and are delivered on time in line with Financial Regulations; and that WASCO internal customers are promptly and efficiently served by holding optimum stock levels of required stock items at all times.
Key Tasks:
Develop procurement and stores management procedures and ensure that they are being adhered to.
Educate staff on the procurement and stores procedures.
Develop procurement plan and Monitor the turnaround time of requisitions
Seek credit facilities with suppliers and maintains good business relationships.
Develop and maintain suppliers’ database in line with the Company’s Financial and Procurement Policies.
Minimize stock outs by ensuring that re-order levels and re-order quantities are maintained.
Make recommendation to management regarding obsolete stocks.
Prepare annual business plans, budget monthly, quarterly and yearly reports.
Develop biding and evaluation documents for procurement of goods/services in line with the best procurement practices
Undertake staff appraisals, staff development, staff discipline and morale.
Monitor proper adherence to fixed asset management policies.
Provide monthly consolidated inventory analysis reports
Identify risk associated with water utility Company inventory management and develop appropriate strategies to mitigate the risk
Qualifications & Experience
Chartered Accountant (ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent qualification with 3 years’ experience in procurement/stores managerial role.
Supply Chain Management qualification will be an added advantage.
