Jhpiego Lesotho in supporting of and in collaboration with the MOH is conducting a DREAMS study on the title “Characterization of Male Sexual Partners of Adolescent Girls and Young Women in Lesotho.”
Research assistants are needed to support data collection and clerical study duties. The study will be conducted in Maseru and Berea. These positions will report to the Research coordinator.
Scope of work
· Collect data from eligible participants using tablets and recorders.
· Conduct Focus group discussion (FGD) with Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW)
· Ensure that all the data collection forms are completed appropriately
· Perform other clerical duties related to the study
· Recruit research participants (AGYW) for household survey and FGD
· Conduct household survey and facilitate, lead and conduct FGD sessionon
· Identify and establish good contact with community leaders
· Address gatekeeping issues properly and establish good working relationship with responsible authority.
· build rapport with people from different settings (rural and urban People)
· Adhere to the principles and procedures of data collection
· Follow the guidelines of data collection provided in the manual
· Timely consult and communicate any challenges encountered during data collection
· Perform any other related duties
Qualifications and Requirements
· Diploma in any health related course, Statistics, Demography, Economics, sociology or any other related subject
· Experience in working with the health data collection through interviews and focus group discussion
· Be able to transcribe and translate FGDs
· Computer skills
· Good Team player
· Excellent communication skills
· Maintain confidentiality of information
· Be fluent in Sesotho and English
· Have good clerical/ filling skills.
