POSITION: PUSH-Medical Officer
Number of positions: 3 (Maseru, Mafeteng and Mohale’s Hoek)
Reports to: PIH-L Clinical Director
Main purpose of the role includes but is not limited to:
Provide capacity building on TB and TB/HIV to the primary health care providers and district management team.
Provides technical support related to TB/HIV program strategies and approaches related to implementation of programs.
Work with the Lesotho Ministry of Health (MOH), district health management team on the programmatic management of TB, co-infections TB/HIV
Contributes to development of lessons learned from programs and projects related to TB/HIV and apply these lessons to modify existing program and improve the design of new programs.
Mentor and supervise primary health care service providers to facilities
Ensure proper implementation of national guideline and protocols for TB and HIV at the facilities
Conduct regular performance review on TB, TB/HIV services provided at the facilities and identify gaps to any facility/district poor performance.
Work on identified gaps and propose solutions to the DHMTs to improve TB/HIV services
Basic qualifications and experience
Medical degree (MD)
Postgraduate study in MPH is preferable
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the clinical TB and TB/HIV care and management
Experience in working with USAID funded projects
Work experience in mentorship and training to health care workers and health program officers/managers is preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to interact professionally within culturally diverse settings
