SECRETARY – FINANCE BRANCH

The bi-national Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP), of the Kingdom of Lesotho (KOL) and the Republic of South Africa (RSA) is aimed at harnessing the water resources of the highlands of Lesotho for the mutual advantage of Lesotho and the Republic of South Africa. 

The Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) was set up to implement and operate that part of the LHWP that falls within the borders of Lesotho. LHDA is to embark on Phase II of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP), a multi-billion rand Phase involving large scale civil engineering and socio-environmental aspects. The Authority invites applications from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the position of SECRETARY in the FINANCE BRANCH.

SECRETARY – FINANCE BRANCH – HR/SEC/14A/45/10/14

Qualifications:

Diploma in Secretarial Studies or Office Practice, with at least five (5) years’ relevant experience in a similar role.

Essential Requirements for the Post:

Relevant experience and knowledge of computer programs e.g. word, excel, power point, secretarial and good communication skills; deportment; and good telephone manners. A certificate of 50 wpm or more typing and 100 wpm shorthand. Must have a good working knowledge of word processing and spread sheet software and very high numeracy skills.

Purpose:

To assist the Branch with general clerical office administration and sundry accounting duties, as well as any other duties that may be reasonably assigned from time to time.

Major Tasks and Performance Requirements:

• Reports to the Chief Finance Officer.
• Provides secretarial duties and administrative support services to the Chief Finance Officer and other Finance Branch Sections.
• Perform secretarial duties for the Management and Cost Accountants.
• Attends to incoming and outgoing mail.
• Arranges for outgoing mail to be delivered promptly.
• Records minutes of meetings as and when required.
• Receives incoming calls and takes messages.
