Human Resources Organizational Development Coordinator

Reporting to the Country Director, the HROD Coordinator will be responsible for overall coordination and management of human resource, procurement, administration and organisation development in AAIL.  The holder of the position is a member of the senior management team and is expected to ensure organizational efficiency and effectiveness through participation in decision making, advising on HROD activities in the organisation, communication and implementation of agreed upon decisions. 
The key responsibilities for the position include:
  • Development, implementation and interpretation of Human Resource strategies, policies, procedures and systems that are  consistent and in harmony with the Kenya labour laws, Global HR/OD framework and other AAIL policies;
  • To lead the development and implementation of frameworks for human resource planning, recruitment, selection, induction, orientation, confirmation, promotion, separation, disciplinary and termination processes in line with organization requirements; 
  • Development and implementation of performance management systems for all staff in AAIL including facilitation of performance appraisal, provision of feedback and initiation of corrective actions;
  • Facilitate change and transformation processes within the broader Country program and constituent parts such as themes, functions, programs and Local Rights Program for effective and efficient delivery of AAIL Country Strategy Plan;
  • Take lead in the development and implementation of strategies and programs for full employee engagement and participation in implementing organization policies, strategies, plans and priorities;
  • Lead the implementation and review of initiatives to align AAIL’s organisational structure with the organization’s Country Strategy Plan as well as strengthening organizational effectiveness and efficiency from an OD perspective;
  • Overseeing formulation and implementation of policies, systems and procedures governing administration, procurement, IT, logistics and front office operations within the organisation in order to promote organizational efficiency and effectiveness; 
The successful candidate will have:
  • A degree in Human Resource Management/Strategic Management from a recognized University (Masters degree/ post graduate is an added advantage). Professional affiliation to any nationally, internationally/recognized HR body is desirable;
  • At least 4-5 years relevant experience in managing an HR function or section in HR related work from a reputable organization or Leadership and Management of a team of HR professionals;
  • Excellent management, leadership, planning and prioritization skills;
  • High level of IT proficiency in use of MS Word, Excel, Access, Power-point, e-mail, DTP packages. Knowledge of; labour laws of Lesotho and employee relations system; HR Information systems and computer applications; Strategic Planning and Management; Performance Management Systems; and Recruitment and selection procedures.
