Security Officer
Lesotho Post Bank, a financial services provider of choice in Lesotho is looking for a highly competent Mosotho candidate to fill the vacant position of Security Officer.
JOB PURPOSE:
• Reporting to the Head of Head of Risk, the incumbent will manage and coordinate security operations across all
LPB branches. Also oversee the maintenance of and compliance to security standards as well as conduct regular checks to confirm the effective operation of alarm, video and access control systems, troubleshoot and promptly resolve all issues.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Control access into the banking hall before and after banking hours
• Record and reports any unusual observations and undertakes corrective action whenever appropriate
• Manage the protection of the bank’s assets, staff and customers
• Manage the guarding of banking premises by directing security officer and security guards
• Inspect and test any security measure to ascertain whether it is operating effectively
• Monitor the CCTV system to ensure maximum coverage of activities within and adjacent banking premises
• Update alarm user lists in order to insert or delete any staff member in accordance with the Security Policy and
Procedures
• Review access control user lists to ensure that only authorised staff are granted access into secure areas
• Maintain a casual observation for any suspicious subjects around the banking premises and the adjacent parking lots
• Collect crime information and profile from information sources
• Maintain a criminal profile and update it periodically in accordance with emerging crime trends
• Conduct trainings for staff on security awareness and crime prevention
• Conduct research about new methodologies used in the crime prevention arena
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Diploma in Security Management, Forensic Investigation or Policing, Law or equivalent
• At least Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• At least 3 years’ experience in a security intensive organisation such as the army, police, service or private security industry.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• Weapon handling, Basic martial arts, Firefighting skills, Computer literacy
• Applicants should not have prior criminal record, previous convictions or been involved in criminal activities.
• Strict and disciplined sober habits
• Analytic thinking and problem solving abilities
• Good interpersonal and public relations skills
• Adherence to schedules, good time management and be willing to work under pressure.
