To help us drive our success into the future, we are looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Technical Support Specialist to join our dedicated team. Job Purpose

Be involved in the planning and the configuration of various development, test and production infrastructure environments and ensure that it complies with all non-functional requirements.  The current environment is basically the WebSphere Product set (WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere MQ)  and Oracle databases running on Unix Infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

-Ensure that HA is provided for all components
-Ensure that proper monitoring is in place
-Ensure that the necessary capacity exist 
-Ensure that the applications running in the environment are running optimally from a performance point of view
-Ensure that the environments are configured securely
-Maintain accurate documentation
-Ensure that the correct patch levels of all the software is maintained and that version upgrades are co-ordinated where necessary
-Fault finding any issues that may be experienced – especially in the development environments

Preferred Qualification and Experience

-Relevant tertiary qualification
-Experience with the design and support of enterprise infrastructure environments.  This includes high availability configurations, the provision of DR environments and the effective monitoring of these environments. 
-Good network skills
-Good operating system skills, Unix/Linux is the primary platform
-Ability to troubleshoot and solving problems
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-Ability to multi-task 
-Self-driven, independent and problem solving skills.
 

Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise

-Previous experience with WebSphere Application server and WebSphere MQ including the configuration of clusters 
-Previous experience with configuration of load balancing environments (F5 experience would be additional advantage)
-Previous experience with the performance optimisation of environments – especially WebSphere Application Server configurations
-Previous work with Source Code Repository products
-Previous work with monitoring products – especially the dynaTrace Product.
-Previous work with Oracle databases including Oracle RAC.
-Knowledge of financial systems will be an advantage.
