LESOTHO MINISTRY OF HEALTH EMPLOYMENT


Background:

The Government of Lesotho has secured funds from Global Fund (GF) to fight HIV and AIDS as well as TB and Malaria. The overall coordination of the funds is the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance, the Principal Recipient of these funds through the established Program Implementation Unit, the Global Fund Coordinating Unit (GFCU).

The Ministry of Health has been selected as the major Sub Recipient to most of the signed grants between the MOF and the GF. To enable the GFCU to discharge its mandate of coordinating MOH Global Fund supported activities effectively, workforce is required. The MOH therefore invites suitably qualifies candidates for the positions below:

Position : HTS Coordinator (1)
Duty Station : Maseru Head Office

Under the supervision of the Head Disease Control /Programme Manager (GFCU. The HTS Coordinator is in charge of the coordination of service delivery components of quality HIV Testing and Counselling Services (HTS) using innovative strategies developed to ensure delivery of quality, integrated high impact HTS nationally.

The incumbent shall during the entire period of engagement dedicate and fully give her/his time to all activities that are being supported through the Global Fund grants within the entire Ministry of Health.

Position  : Logistics Officer (1)

Duty Station  : Maseru Head Office

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of National TB Programme Manager, The Logistics Officer is responsible for ensuring a continuous and adequate supply of TB laboratory reagents and consumables, non-health supplies and health supplies like TB patient kits are available for all districts. This is achieved through implementation and maintenance of the supply chain management system. These activities depend on a systems approach that involves processes for procurement, tracking and follow up of orders, monitoring of stocks, and comprehensive distribution procedures.

Position:  Adherence Psycho Social Officer – APSO (2)

Duty Stations:              Quthing & Butha Buthe

The core task of the Adherence Psycho Social Officer (APSO) is to support adherence to life-long ART and to curative TB treatment through preparatory counseling, adherence support, treatment literacy education and psycho-social support. The APSOs will be permanently based within the TB clinic to ensure the proper documentation and implementation of TB, TB/HIV and DR-TB patient education and support. Support includes, but is not limited to, ensuring that TB and TB/HIV co-infected patients receive documented HTC services, preparatory and ongoing counseling, and initiation of both TB and ART according to protocol.

Ensure daily duties are addressed in a timely fashion. Ability to function as a team member
