The U.S. Mission in Pretoria is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for a position of Motor Pool Clerk in the General Services Office (GSO). Description
Basic Function of the Position:
Under the direction of the Fleet Manager and indirectly through the Motor Pool Supervisor, the Motor Pool Clerk will facilitate administrative operations of the section by managing the ILMS Motor Pool services module, up-dating ILMS vehicle inventories, and preparing annual and monthly vehicle inventory reports and correspondences. Additional support will be in answering e-mail and phone calls, maintaining work orders, and reconciling invoices associated with work orders. Incumbent will maintain vehicle files, petty cash accounts, and files associated with the Fleet Management contract, Motor Pool, and automotive maintenance operations. The incumbent records and submits time and attendance (T&A) and provides other clerical support as needed.
Basic Salary: R188,734- R264,227 per annum
Cash Benefits: R27,341- R33,632 per annum
Non-cash benefits include medical, pension and others where applicable
Final salary is based upon a variety of factors.

Qualifications Required:

Education:
Successful completion of secondary school is required.
Work Experience:
Minimum of four years clerical or administrative experience with motor vehicles and/or fleet management is required.
Language:
Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required. (This will be tested.)
Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing of one additional South African official language is required.
Skills and Abilities:
Good Customer Service Skills and ability to liaise with local vendors on fleet management matters is required.
Ability to prioritize work is required.
Ability to maintain a database, manipulate statistical and transfer database to a bar and/or pie graphs is required.
Basic familiarity with MS Word and Excel is required. (This will be tested).
Valid Code 10 Driver's License or equivalent with PDP is required.
Other tests may be administered if necessary.
Job Knowledge
Basic procurement and budget knowledge for correct billing of fuel and other expenses associated with vehicle usage are required.
Knowledge of local terrain and sources available for transportation services and basic knowledge in motor vehicle operation procedures is required.
