POSITION: Medical Officer

REPORTS TO: Medical Director

Main purpose of the role
• To supervise clinical staff and oversee activities at a Multi-Drug-Resistant-TB facility
• To provide day to day high quality patients’ care for inpatients and outpatients.
• Management of TB/HIV patients.
• Provide primary health care services at the health centres where necessary.
• Oversee ongoing clinical meetings.
• Supervise clinical services at all levels, i.e. Hospital, District and community.
• Supervise trainings for junior medical staff.
• Compile monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Participate in all project’s activities
• Conduct regular home visits, supervisory and outreach services.
• Participate in different health campaigns.
Minimum Requirements:
• Medical degree, with 2 or more years of experience in primary health care dealing with HIV and TB
• Experience in the management of Multi-drug-resistant-TB will be an added advantage
• Strong critical analysis and data analysis skills
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Proven ability to exercise good judgment and diplomacy
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize work flow, adapt to fluctuating workload, and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to interact professionally within culturally diverse settings
