Responsibilities:
- Perform system building, implementation of application modules
- Maintain and monitor the application environment to ensure stability and optimum performance
- Formulate and maintain technical standards
- Participate in feasibility study for alternative implementation or enhancement of application modules and procedures
- Participate in Joint Applications Development (JAD) sessions
- Review technical specifications and/or program specifications in accordance with the organisation’s and technologies standards
- Review functional specifications and test plans
- Supervise and participate on coding and perform applications systems code reviews to ensure technical quality and high quality service to clients / users
- Provide technical guidance on bleeding edge technologies to both development and business analysis peers
- Participate actively in the building of system architecture and the system integration thereof
- Provide guidance and assist on the implementation of systems optimisation and enhancement projects
- Ensure conformity to established ADM SDLC standards and procedures from development perspective
- Apply and utilise systems in a manner that contributes to efficient and effective service delivery and optimised quality
- Implement initiatives relating to projects that will lead to improved key processes across the business
- Ensure that completed work adhere to relevant policies, procedures, governance and legislative requirements and report on deviations & discrepancies
- Keep up to date records of completed work
- Ensure quality of work content, minimise mistakes and continuously improve quality and standards
- Deliver operating results within predefined quality, volume and time standards
- Constantly align own work method to changes in work requirements, procedures, policies, processes, and delivery systems to meet contracted targets
- Perform operations in a specialised area to technical specifications and contribute to operational result delivery within predefined standards
- Harvesting, Cleansing and Matching of 3rd Party Data
- Build components to facilitate Conversions and Data Migration from Legacy Systems to Modernised Solutions
Knowledge & Skills:
- Understanding of multi-threaded applications and .Net framework internals
- Client-facing experience
- Multitier architectures and the technologies associated with it
- Microsoft SQL Server (queries, design and data normalization)
- Strong communication skills
- Development of SQL scripts and stored procedures
- Microsoft SQL Server SSIS
- XML family technologies (e.g., XML Schemas / XSL / XPath)
- Unit testing
- Use and best practises for source control systems (SubVersion / TFS)
- Experience working with a the following utilities and scripting languages:
- SQL Server 2008 and later
- VB Script
- Visual Studio, C# with .Net
- Websphere MQ client
- SQL Compare
- Oxygen XML Editor
- DevExpress

Education & Experience:
- Matric
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or NQF Level 07 Qualification
- Microsoft .Net Certifications
- 8 years SQL, C#.Net, experience including design, development, implementation and maintenance
- Advanced OOP Concepts, Design Patterns, Enterprise library and Software Engineering best practices
- Development processes and methodologies (e.g. UML)
