My client in the tax and auditing industry is seeking to employ an Operations Specialist to consult to business on technology solutions in the data services domain whilst ensuring 24/7 availability within all BU platforms

Responsibilities: Implement initiatives relating to projects that will lead to improved key processes across the business Ensure that business requirements are clearly identified, prioritized and satisfied by appropriate technical and or business process solutions Prepare project specifications for maintenance projects, ensure participation and assist in evaluation of proposals for specification compliance Optimise the operational environment through research and application of best practices and ensure alignment to the overall infrastructure strategy In conjunction with the vendors, perform regular supportability reviews, health checks and risk assessments of the production environment Ensure that completed work adhere to governance and legislative requirements Correctly apply policies, practices, standards, procedures and legislation in the delivery of work outputs Apply practical and applied knowledge and act authoritatively on methods, systems and procedures to identify trends and potential risks Drive own performance & provide specialist support & advice to achieve specified objectives against required targets, deadlines and quality standards Integrate new knowledge attained through formal and informal learning opportunities and apply in the execution of your job Adhere to specified standards, policies and procedures to prevent wastage on resources and escalate associated risk Provide authoritative, specialist expertise and advice to internal and external customers Requirements: Matric IT Degree or diploma 5 years solid MS SQL Database Administration Experience 5 or more years’ experience in MS SQL Installations and Upgrades 5 or more years comprehensive experience monitoring and performance tuning on MS SQL servers 5 or more years’ experience in MS SQL Clustering 5 or more years’ experience in MS SQL Replication topologies 5 or more years’ experience working in a 24/7 environment MS SQL certification from an accredited training centre Experience in process automation in any SQL, windows scripting or development languages If you have not heard from us within 2 weeks of the closing date, please accept that your application has been unsuccessful Please send your CV to susan@humancommunications.co.za
