The above vacancy exists at MGC Properties – Mpilo Boutique Hotel and MGC Park (Maseru). Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the above position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Install, confi gure and support the organizations
LAN and WAN and internet system
• Maintain network hardware and software
• Monitor network to ensure network availability
to all system users and perform necessary
maintenance to support network availability
• Plan, coordinate and implement network security
measures in order to protect data, software and
hardware
• Perform data backups and disaster recovery
operations
• Diagnose hardware and software problems and
replace defective components
• Operate master consoles in order to monitor the
performance of computer systems and networks,
and to coordinate computer network access and
use
• Perform routine network start-up and shutdown
procedure and maintain control of records
• Design, confi gure and test computer hardware,
networking software and operating system
software
• Recommend changes to improve systems and
network confi gurations and determine hardware
or software requirements related to such changes
• Monitor network performance in order to
determine whether adjustments need to be made
and determine where changes need to be made
• Confer with network users about systems problems
and train them on system use.
• Gather organizational data and use the information
to identify, predict, interpret and evaluate system
and network requirements
• Analyse equipment performance records in order
to determine the need for repair or replacement
• Maintain logs related to network functions as well
as maintenance and repair records and maintain an
inventory of parts for emergency repairs
• Research new technologies, and recommend
implementation
KEY REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor/Associate Degree in Computer Science
or Engineering/Relevant College Courses in
Information Systems, Mainframe Operations, Data
Processing or computer systems or any related
qualifi cation
• Cisco/Microsoft Certifi cates are an added
advantage
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position
• Knowledge of latest information systems and
systems analysis and systems evaluation
• Analytical skills and critical thinking
• Written/oral Comprehension and oral expression
• Time Management and monitoring
• Problem solving and technology design
