Envisaged for this role is a communications specialist with the ability to think strategically to analyse and support the development of national communication strategies that enable fundraising. This is an advisory role that covers expert guidance on media relations, content development, crisis communications, and channel usage. Expertise in digital media and payment platforms is required. The successful candidate in this role will be expected to build up and lead an internal virtual network of colleagues in order to drive and support best practice sharing amongst Member Associations in the region, as well as develop and implement capacity-building activities including the development of support tools and guidelines. Liaison with internal stakeholders is a key component of this role and it requires cross-cultural sensitivity.
To be considered, you should have a tertiary qualification in Communications plus a minimum of 5 years’ relevant working experience in strategic communications - leading a communications department or working as a communications consultant. Development experience and knowledge of international NGOs is preferable. An independent, target-orientated and structured working approach is essential. Proficiency in English is imperative, including highly developed drafting abilities, while knowledge of French/Portuguese would be an advantage. The incumbent must be innately passionate about children’s rights and international development, and have the ability and willingness to travel internationally.
