A local insurance company is looking to fill the position of Head of the Short-Term Business Unit. Suitably qualified candidates are requested to tender their interest to occupy this position.
The incumbent shall have the responsibility of providing strategic leadership in the division.
I. Main Responsibilities of the job
1. Develop and Recommend and Implement Business Strategies for the Division
2. Coordinate Efforts towards growing profitability through existing business and new business
3. Sustain competent Stakeholder relations management
3.1. Brokers
3.2. Direct Clients
3.3. Reinsurers
3.4. Partners
4. Risk Management: Monitor division activities in line with Risk Appetite
5. Manage the activities of Managers in Short Term
6. Corporate Governance and Compliance
7. Supervise the reviewing and revising of division policies
8. Quality Management: Facilitate an environment that ascertains the Quality services.
9. Implement new innovations and change according to the requirements of the marketplace.
10. Ensure competent stakeholder management.
11. Expand short-term insurance business via new networks and partnerships in the region.
II. Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualification
Recognised Insurance Qualification in Short Term insurance
Membership to relevant professional bodies exceeding 5 years
B Com Degree or equivalent
Knowledge of reinsurance models and structures
