The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified locals for the following post:
DEPARTMENT OF WORKS AND MAINTENANCE
Post No. 2625: Logistics Manager (Estate Manager)
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: BA in Construction Management, Business and Entrepreneurship, Property and Facilities Management. Minimum of one year relevant experience;
Estates Manager shall be answerable to the Director of Works as his left hand person;
He/She shall form part of the executive of the WMD;
He/She shall oversee that all services requests are served from Faculties, Departments and the External Clients/Stakeholders on behalf of Director’s office;
In his/her capacity shall advise the Director of Works on issues pertaining to all services activities in order to ensure efficient and effective use of the university facilities;
Estates and Services Manager shall oversee and monitor the provision of all WMD Operations Services (Transport Section, Technical Store Section, Space Section & Furniture Section); and
The responsibility will also include the sites and services, e.g. leases administrations for all NUL properties, the management of common halls such as Netherlands, ISAS etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate the managing of resources such as vehicles, materials, utilities (electricity, water, sewerage and refuse), rentals and space management;
Prepare and update material tender specifications, tender valuation and appraisal;
Coordinate and monitor the WMD budget on behalf of the Director’s office;
Initiating and influencing policy changes for enhancing quality services delivery to clientele;
Oversee and service management of sites and utilities (leases payments etc);
Prepare audit and performance reports for all services sections under his/her management for Director’s office;
Liaising and co-ordination of provision of services with all stakeholders, e.g. ceremonies, graduations, examination layout etc.
Oversee general performance of all services sections under his/her management.
Leadership and management skills (Decision making management skills, time management skills etc);
Communication and reporting skills;
Computer skills in Microsoft word, MS Excel, Power point etc;
Ability to address multiple tasks and technical issues at the same time;
Ability to mentor subordinates; and
Productive skills i.e. getting more output for less cost and less time with quality.
