Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Ward Attendant at Maseru Private Hospital:
Job Summary: 
The Ward Attendant provides basic personal, intake and elimination care to the clients/patients. Ensures comfort and optimally clean surroundings for the clients/patients. The ward attendant observes the safety and company regulations in order to contribute to the client care.
1. Key Roles/Responsibilities:
Provision of safe health care environment and promotion of quality patient care as directed by the health professionals.
Documentation of all care rendered to the client in the ward attendant record sheet.
2. List of Duties
General Ward
Bed baths, bed making, damp dusting, changing of napkins, any other relevant duties as may be assigned by management from time to time baby baths (subsequent baths only for healthy neonates.), Accompanying the professional nurses to wheel patients to and from the operating theatres and assist the nurses with the instruments cleaning and autoclaving in the operating theatre.
4. Job Specifications (Qualifications)
Education
A minimum of GCE or equivalent.
Experience
Individuals who have previously worked in a hospital setting as a care worker.
Job Knowledge
Must be familiar with emergency procedures and safety issues. Must demonstrate skills in reading, writing, and be able to communicate through appropriate lines of authority. Must be able to follow established protocols, document events and inform appropriate.
Environmental and Working Conditions
In the course of performing duties, the worker is reasonably anticipated to have potential occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens or contact with blood and other potentially infectious material. Must be prepared to handle physically and mentally stressful situations, including acute/medical situations and infectious or hazardous materials. Work schedules include day, evening, night and weekend shifts. May also be required to be on-call and work overtime
5. Remuneration and Benefits
Grade A salary, 12 days annual leave and Contributory pension scheme.
