LECTURER IN SPECIAL EDUCATION IN THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATIONS

The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following post: 
FACULTY OF EDUCATION:
 
POST NO. 0874: LECTURER IN SPECIAL EDUCATION IN THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATIONS
  
Minimum qualifications and requirements:
The incumbent must have a minimum qualification of Masters Degree in Special Education plus teaching experience of at least 3 years. An undergraduate major in Visual Impairment (VI) is required. Knowledge of International statutes and National policies on inclusive education is desirable. A PhD and/ or research publication in the same area would be an added advantage.

Duties:
Teaching courses in Special Education. Besides teaching responsibilities a successful candidate will also be required to support learners with visual impairment admitted by NUL in various Faculties and their lecturers with Braille transcription. The candidate will also advise the University on how to support learners with disability it has admitted. He or she will also advise the unit responsible for Visually Impaired learners on equipment appropriate for their learning.
 
Contract duration:
The appointment for this post shall be a two year contract.
  
Assumption of duties: 
Successful candidate for the above post will be expected to start working as soon as possible.

 
Remuneration:
The University offers salaries and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
