DRIVER X 2

The above-mentioned position exists in World Vision Lesotho - in Mpharane ADP in Mafeteng & Kota ADP in Leribe Districts.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To provide effective logistics support to the Project, enhance transport services and provide a wide range of expedient support services for the Project. To ensure that all errands are carried out in timely manner

REPORTS TO: ADP Managers
DURATION: Three (3) years contract.

MAJOR REPONSIBILITIES:

• Transports WV Staff to and from the field in safely manner.
• Ensure safe use of vehicles
• Adherence of traffic regulations
• Correct vehicle operations
• Monitors mileage travelled and fuel used in order to calculate fuel consumption, and reconciles this against the meter readings through the maintenance of log books on daily basis.
• Oversee the maintenance of World Vision vehicle, ensuring that the assigned vehicle is kept in good working condition.
• Monitors the assigned vehicle on a weekly basis (checking oil leaks, accident damage, tyre conditions, and vehicle servicing).
• Ensures that the mechanical state of the assigned vehicle and defects are reported and attended to timeously.
• Checks the status vehicles- engine oil, water, brake fluid on a daily basis
• Transports only authorised passengers.
• Performs other related duties as requested by the ADP Manager, as the need arises.
• Attends and participates in daily devotional meetings.

Other Competencies/Attributes:
• Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
• Attend in daily devotions and weekly Chapel services.
• Perform other duties as required.
REMUNERATION
Competitive with market standards.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

• COSC with defensive driving
• Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years experience.
• Good knowledge of car mechanics, with a certificate in car maintenance, will be an added advantage.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of the road system of the area of work. Must be good in English, both written and spoken.
• Good telephone manner and ability to work in a cross-cultural environment with multi-national staff.
• Ability to prioritize work in relation to need and urgency.
• A working knowledge of fax machine, photocopier and telephone preferred.
