National Control Centre Controller

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the above-mentioned position. The incumbent will be responsible to the NCC Supervisor. The position is in Maseru - Mabote.
QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
· Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
· Diploma in Electrical Engineering will be an added advantage.
· 2 years working experience in an electrical power system control and operation.
· Computer knowledge and report writing skills.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
· Monitors the status of the national network at all times in order to immediately identify any abnormalities.
· Switches circuit breakers remotely where necessary.
· Logs down all transmission network operations.
· Dispatches faults to standby engineers and other LEC personnel as it may be relevant depending on the fault magnitude.
· Records network readings when required.
· Monitors that all control equipment in the control room functions properly and reports abnormalities to the NCC supervisor.
· Updates the Operating System Single Line Diagram in the control room.
· Issues switching instructions to the operating personnel such that they comply with safety rules and regulations at all times.
· Initiates switching operations during fault conditions or to meet system demand.
· Provide feedback to the NCC supervisor on the performance of the network on daily basis.
· Makes decision within the appropriate levels of accountability and responsibility.
