PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB.
The primary purpose of the job is to ensure a high standard of safety, health and environment integrity of the site and to monitor and evaluate employee and contractors compliance against the Safety and Health standards.
KEY RESULT AREAS & OUTPUTS
Safety, Health and Environment (SHE)
Develops safety, health & environment procedures/policies and train all employees & contractors.
Ensures adherence to SHE policies/procedures
Responsible for maintenance of fire & other safety equipment
Ensure that all SHE committees are actively involved and participate in company related activities
Compiles and reviews the HSE procedures and standards
Promote Health and Safety communication and content to employees/contractors throughout the company.
Co-ordination & Monitoring of SHE Activities
Ensure overall compliance to the Safety, Health & Environment legislation
Conducts investigations of all injuries and incidents involving company employee’s or property, including damage to the environment, and advise management accordingly
Maintains detailed & accurate records of SHE incidents in accordance with Lesotho legislation requirements
Ensures that the company attains the NOSA star rating & HACCP accreditation.
Conduct internal Health and Safety Audits
Conduct Risk Assessments
Costs
Manage fixed and variable costs within budget
Manage Human Resources
Train/coach employees and contractors on Health and Safety policies and procedures throughout the company.
Develop employees
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Equivalent and Registration with the Ministry of Labour and Employment as a SHE Officer is a MUST
OR
Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety with a minimum of 5 years relevant working experience and Registration with the Ministry of Labour and Employment as a SHE Officer is a MUST
A working experience in FMCG Company will be an added advantage
