With funding from the USAID Regional HIV/AIDS Program (RHAP), Management Sciences for Health (MSH) implements the Building Local Capacity for Delivery of HIV Services in Southern Africa Project (BLC). The project assists governments and civil society organizations in the region to strengthen their technical and leadership management capacity to deliver quality, accessible and sustainable HIV and AIDS services to the people.
The BLC project currently operates from the regional office in Pretoria, South Africa and country operations in Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, and Swaziland, implementing a portfolio of projects clustered around four focus areas; capacity building, HIV prevention, care and support for orphans and vulnerable children, and provision of community based care.
MSH/ BLC seeks to appoint committed, dynamic and hardworking incumbents for positions listed below. The successful candidates will have experience in supporting and managing education programming and/or community-based care programs for Orphans & Vulnerable Children (OVC) and in supporting community-based care programs for Orphans & Vulnerable Children (OVC) and/or people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA).
Program Officer

MSH seeks a Program Officer with experience for a Regional and Bilateral Capacity Building Project in the Southern Africa region. The primary responsibility of this position is to support, lead, manage, and coordinate the MSH/BLC Lesotho ECD program and study intervention. The Program Officer will be responsible for supporting and locally managing all aspects of the program including program planning and development, staff training activities, project implementation, relationships with BLC sub-grantees and donors, and organizational, operational and reporting activities. This position will also require an active role in liaising with and providing support to sub-grantees staff, including those from Stellenbosch University and local CBO, GROW. This position will also frequently report on project activity status to the Country Lead and BLC team.
Junior Program Officer
Location: Maseru
MSH seeks a Junior Program Officer with experience in supporting community-based care programs for Orphans & Vulnerable Children (OVC) and/or people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). The Junior Program Officer will support the implementing partners and the program team, including the Program officer and the Country Lead to manage, and coordinate the MSH-BLC Lesotho OVC program portfolio. S/he will be responsible for following up tracking the implementation of activities in the annual workplan, relationships with BLC sub-grantees, and all other organizational, operational and reporting activities. The position will also support the Program Officer and Capacity Building Specialist in fulfilling implementation of planned activities.
