The applicant will be responsible for co-ordinating short and long term planning for the operation, implementing and managing mining, technical systems and providing leadership to the planning, survey and geotechnical engineering functions and reports to the Mine Manager.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all Company systems, practises and procedures
- Responsible for the design / layout of new mining blocks
- Compile business plan
- Ensure legal compliance standards of survey, geotechnical and planning functions
- Perform feasibility studies
Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- B Tech or Degree in Mining Engineering / Survey / Geology / Rock Engineering
- Minimum 10 years mining experience
- Valid drivers’ license (EB/08)
- Basic software knowledge of Microstation and Mine 2-4D
- Conversant with Microsoft Office packages
Other Skills/Competencies:
- Proven track record of supervising and managing people
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Have knowledge and skill in supporting a knowledge management plan for a unit
- Know and understand the concept and components of knowledge management plan
