The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-HABITAT, is the United Nations agency for human settlements. It is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all. The position of Programme Management Officer reports to the Programme Director / Chief Technical Advisor in Riyadh and facilitates the efficient and effective operations of UN-HABITAT Projects in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States. The post is located in UN-HABITAT Office in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Education
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Business, Public Administration, Management, Finance, or Accounting or related area. A first-level university degree with a combination of two years professional and academic qualifications may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Professional accreditations/certification like Chartered Accountancy and PRINCE 2 and advance knowledge of Excel, enterprise resource management systems and MS Project are an asset.

Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in programme management, administration and procurement, financial and human resource management, or related area. Experience in country programme and project administration or finance management is required. Prior experience with UN funds and programmes on various operational modalities is an added asset.

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of Arabic and any other UN official language is an advantage.
