Qualifications and skills
- relevant post-graduate degree
- knowledge of financial modelling, corporate finance structures, leasing, project finance, preferably RE/EE financing in the region
- proven track record in project finance
- demonstrated business development skills
- excellent communication skills in both oral and written English; additional local language skills are an advantage;
Professional experience
- At least 5 years relevant, recent and ongoing experience in
- Project management, financial advisory, investment management
- Sub-Saharan Africa
- Financial structuring and negotiation of credit enhancement products, including risk mitigation instruments
- Structuring investment projects, identifying and mitigating risks to make them bankable
- Performing financial due diligence
- Preparing and presenting investment proposals for energy financing programmes and/or investment vehicles
- Energy finance
- the set-up and management of donor fund or commercial investment vehicles
- Attracting investment from donors and or private sector

- Experience in assisting project developers to develop bankable projects is an advantage
- Experience in integrating dedicated EE/RE financing products, tools and practices inside commercial bank’s organisations is an advantage
- Experience in setting up and managing associated technical assistance is an advantage
- Exposure to EE/RE financing products, tools and practices inside commercial banks is highly desirable
- Experience in setting up and managing associated technical assistance is an advantage
