Risk and Compliance Manager (Insurance Industry) 

Overall Objective Position Objective 
A local insurance company is looking towards retaining the services of a Risk and Compliance Manager to establish an integrated and effective risk management framework where all risks are identified, assessed / measured and managed on a consistent basis, and to ascertain the company’s compliance with relevant authorities.
The incumbent will report to the Audit and Risk Committee and will supervise the activities of the internal audit officers.

Main Responsibilities of the job
1. Develop, review and revise risk measurement techniques that include processes, risk models and methodologies that are in line with local, regional and international standards and best practices.
2. Coordinate the development, approval and maintenance of Risk Management Policy
3. Develop, Implement, update and monitor Risk Register
4. Oversee the risk managements of every business unit through the appointed Risk Champion
5. Ascertains staff skills in risk management processes through interviews, audits and training.
6. Monitor and control (or cause to be controlled) risk behaviour and ascertain in remains in approved boundaries.
7. Perform Risk Management Activities
8. Prepare and Present Risk Reports and proposals/propositions to different audiences as required, including Exco and ARC.
9. Perform or cause to be performed, regular compliance audits in line with statutory, regulatory and governance edits
10. Prepare and present compliance report with recommendations to avoid any further non-compliance issues

Qualifications and Experience
-Degree in Insurance or Risk Management
-Insurance Certification: IISA Fellowship
-Demonstrated knowledge of Regional Insurance standards and regulations
-Experience of at least 3 years leading a team in the insurance industry
Or
-Chartered Accountancy/BComm Accounting ; Financial Mathematics
-Insurance Certification: IISA Licentiate
-Demonstrated knowledge of Regional Insurance standards and regulations
-Experience of at least 5 years leading a team in the insurance industry
